Fact 8: In the vignettes (pictures) that were included in the Book of the Dead Osisris is depicted seated on his throne, that is shaped like a flight of steps, holding the crook and flail as symbols of his power of dominion in the realm of the dead. Fact 9: The goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris, is generally depicted with a crown or headdress that resembled steps but represented the royal throne of Egypt. The hieroglyph for Isis also depicts steps as a recognition device for name of the goddess. Fact 10: A Talisman or an amulet can be described as a religious object consisting of a stone or other small item, often inscribed or carved with magical inscriptions, magic signs, magic symbols, formula or sacred text.
