Fact 1: The Circle of Ouroboros was worn as a protective talisman by both the living and the deceased.
Fact 2: Meaning of the Circle of Ouroboros: To the ancient Egyptians the Circle of Ouroboros symbolized renewal, infinity and represented the travels of the sun disk.
Fact 3: The Circle of Ouroboros amulet depicts a snake eating its own tail and forming a circle.

Fact 5: The Ouroboros is the symbolic rendition of the eternal principles presented in the Emerald Tablet of Thoth. The Emerald Tablets of Thoth was a table made of green stone that contained a series of sacred texts from the library of the priests of Thoth.
Fact 6: The mysterious, secret Emerald Tablets of Thoth were believed to contain the key to immortality.
Fact 7: The great snake devouring itself represents the idea that "All Is One," even though the universe undergoes periodic cycles of destruction and rebirth.

The true meaning of this version of a Book of the Dead is not known due to the use of cryptographic illustrations that were used by the ancient Egyptians to preserve the secrecy of the magic spells and formulae.

The 'voces magicae' were believed to invoke spirits who would help the soul to ascend to paradise without fear of being diverted to eternal wandering in the perilous Underworld (Duat).
