Fact 1 on 30th Dynasty:

The previous ruler was believed to have been killed by his successor, Nectanebo I, who founded the 30th line of kings.
 

Fact 2 on 30th Dynasty:

Nectanebo I managed to gain control of all areas in Egypt who were once again faced with the threat of the hated Persians.
 

Fact 3 on 30th Dynasty:

The Egyptians relied on the Greek mercenaries who increased their military force.
 

Fact 4 on 30th Dynasty:

With the help of the mercenaries, and aided by his son Teos, Nectanebo I repelled the Persian invaders
 

Fact 5 on 30th Dynasty:

During what was to be a temporary halt to military conflict, Nectanebo I  had a prosperous reign and initiated various building projects restoring temples and undertaking new buildings at  Philae.
 

Fact 6 on 30th Dynasty:

When Nectanebo I died in 362 BC, Teos succeeded his father on the throne but only reigned for two short years.
 

Fact 7 on 30th Dynasty:

Teos, raised as the spoilt son of the pharaoh, was both arrogant and aggressive and had already reigned for a short time as co-regent with his father.
 

Fact 8 on 30th Dynasty:

Teos began military assaults and wars to regain lost Egyptian lands but he took temple treasures and increased taxes to pay for his military campaigns.
 

Fact 9 on 30th Dynasty:

His actions were not tolerated and Teos was deposed after only two years as pharaoh by his own royal family and sought refuge in Babylonia.
 

Fact 10 on 30th Dynasty:

He was succeeded by his nephew, Nectanebo II. The reign of Nectanebo II was marked by his adherence to the gods and the continuing the building projects started by Nectanebo I.

Aware of the constant threat from Persia Nectanebo II also hired more Greek mercenaries and extended the numbers in the Egyptian army.
 

Fact 12 on 30th Dynasty:

The Persians launched a new attempt to re-conquer Egypt in c351 BC. Despite a military force consisting of 60,000 Egyptians, 20,000 Libyans and 30,000 Greek mercenaries Pharaoh Nectanebo II was defeated by the Persians.
 

Fact 13 on 30th Dynasty:

Artaxerxes took over the city of Memphis, and installed a satrap. A satrap was the name given to a provincial governor in the ancient Persian empire.
 

Fact 14 on 30th Dynasty:

Pharaoh Nectanebo II fled to Upper Egypt in the far south of the country and gained asylum in Nubia where he continued to be recognised as ruler by many Egyptians and attempted to regain the throne.
 

Fact 15 on 30th Dynasty:

A Saite noble called Chababash initiated a rebellion against the Persian satrap in favor of Nectanebo II, but this also failed.
 

Fact 16 on 30th Dynasty:

King Artaxerxes III of Persia took control of Egypt and founded the 31st dynasty of Persian rulers.
